La Casa De Esperanza Community Center

On Friday February 6th 2004, I was allowed to bring one of the Lego Event Kits to the community center's After School program. The kids had a blast and most were very excited about being able to play with LEGO all afternoon! The lego was left at the Community Center for the kids to play with when they are allowed. I have to apologize for the blurry pics, something wasn't set quite properly on my camera and with all the questions from the kids I wasn't able to take the time to figure it out. I just hoped for the best.

I have to take the time to thank Jake from Lego Direct and The Lego Company for the kit, their generosity sure made a lot of kids happy! I also wanted to mention that I donated 3 creator buckets for some regular bricks for the smaller kids to play with, and Troy Cefaratti of GOB Troy's Surplus Lego also graciously gave me a deal on some freestyle wheels and hubs so the kids could make more vehicles than the few that were included with the kit.

Who knows, maybe we'll have created some more AFOL's(1) in this batch!
